November kickoff · First answers to the brief
The seven things the brief asks for, answered ahead of November.
The brief asks for seven items at kickoff. This page gives a first answer to each, built from public search results, AI answer checks and a review of what Constant Contact already has live, all run in October. The final versions, validated in Search Console and Constant Contact's keyword tooling, are delivered in the first two weeks of November.
1 · Canva keyword and question landscape
People search one way and ask assistants another. Each theme is mapped for both.
The search query is what someone types into Google. The AI prompt is how the same person asks ChatGPT, Gemini or an AI Overview. They are often phrased differently, and a page has to answer both. Every row sits inside the brief's rule: Constant Contact has a credible right to appear.
| Theme | Search queries | AI prompts | Primary role | Demand |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Product and integration | canva constant contact · constant contact canva integration · connect canva to constant contact · constant contact canva app | "Does Constant Contact work with Canva?" · "How do I connect Canva to Constant Contact?" · "Is the Canva integration free?" | SEO + AEO/GEO | Small and decisive. Mailchimp holds its own pair at positions 1 and 2; Constant Contact's pair does not appear in the 20 October export. |
| Create → Send | how to send a canva newsletter · can canva send emails · canva email marketing · canva email template · send canva design as email | "Can I send my Canva newsletter to my customer list?" · "What's the best way to email a Canva design to subscribers?" | SEO + AEO/GEO | Moderate. The 20 October export shows about 356 a month across nine Canva terms, all landing on the April template post. |
| Create → Publish | canva social media scheduling · schedule canva posts to instagram · post canva design to tiktok · repurpose canva content | "How do I schedule Canva posts to Instagram and Facebook at once?" · "How can I reuse one Canva design across channels?" | SEO + AEO/GEO | Moderate to high, shared with Canva's own planner. The answer has to be honest about both. |
| Create → Grow | turn social followers into email subscribers · grow email list from instagram · canva marketing workflow small business | "How do I get my Instagram followers onto my email list?" · "What should I do with my Canva content after I post it?" | AEO/GEO first | Broad. The Canva-specific share is small, so these pieces win more often in answers than in rankings. |
| Supporting decisions | best email marketing for canva users · email platforms that integrate with canva · do I need email software if I use canva | "Which email marketing tools work with Canva?" · "Is Canva enough for email marketing?" | AEO/GEO first | Low volume, highest value per click. Needs brand and legal guidance before drafting. |
All volume figures are approximate and directional until validated in November. The full query set, with ranges, is part of the kickoff package.
2 · Key SEO and AEO/GEO opportunities
Six openings, and the role each one plays.
Each opportunity is tagged by where it pays off: traditional search rankings, AI answers and citations, or both. The first one matters most because it sits on Canva's own domain, where Canva users go first.
Canva's own help answer skips Constant Contact
Canva's help article on sending a design by email covers Export to Gmail, states that Gmail is not an email service provider, and points marketers to Mailchimp, HubSpot and Brevo. Constant Contact is not named. Checked 19 October 2026.
One of three Canva pages carries all the rankings
In the 20 October Moz export, every Canva search Constant Contact ranks for lands on the April template post, best position 7. The integration page and the July guide do not appear. A dedicated explainer and a refreshed guide are the fastest wins in the program.
"Can Canva send emails?" is answered by others
Third-party sites and Canva's Gmail route answer it today. A precise, sourced answer that explains what Canva does and what an email platform adds is the kind of page assistants cite.
Two recent posts are ready to refresh
The Canva email template post (April, updated June) and the step-by-step guide (July) both predate the latest enhancements. Updating them is the cheapest visibility gain available.
Releases are content
Each approved capability, such as social video, AI subject lines and captions, or more flexible email exports, becomes a dated, sourced update. Answer engines favor fresh passages with a date on them.
Mailchimp's lead is next to Canva, not on it
Mailchimp's Canva footprint is small, about 148 searches a month on two pages. Its real lead is on the questions around Canva: social scheduling, cross-posting, event emails and images in email. The topic plan goes after those with a Canva angle. See the gap table below.
3 · Recommended content clusters
The brief's four themes become four clusters, each with an anchor and a destination.
An anchor is the page the cluster's pieces link up to. A destination is the Constant Contact page or product step a reader is sent to. Supporting decision pieces sit outside the four and are drafted only once brand and legal guidance on naming other platforms is in place.
| Cluster | What it covers | Anchor | Destination |
|---|---|---|---|
| Product and integration | How the integration works, how to connect, what can be published, what's new. | Integration page /features/integrations/canva, expanded as the hub, plus the November explainer | Hub, then connect step or free trial |
| Create → Send | Designs, newsletters and templates turned into email campaigns. | "Email Marketing with Canva: A Step-by-Step Guide", refreshed in November | Hub; existing customers to connect and import |
| Create → Publish | Scheduling and publishing Canva assets to social, and repurposing across channels. | November scheduling piece, then a Canva + Social section page once the cluster earns it | Social marketing feature page, then hub |
| Create → Grow | Moving from content to an owned audience: followers to subscribers, workflows, measurement, verticals. | December followers-to-subscribers piece | Sign-up forms and list growth, then free trial |
4 · Proposed November topics
Start where the intent is clearest: the integration itself, the email question, and the guide that anchors it.
November carries the kickoff package and four pieces. Every month from November is four: three net-new and one update. Every topic below was checked against constantcontact.com and the 20 October Moz export before it was proposed. Full specifications are in the topic bank.

Why no holiday piece this year. A seasonal piece needs to be live by late October to rank for the holidays. With a November start and the normal review cycle it would publish too late to earn its keep. It sits in the topic bank with a late-October 2027 trigger.
Brief coverage · Why these topics
Every example topic in the brief has a home, and a reason it sits where it does.
The brief lists fifteen example topics across the four themes. Each one is placed below, with the piece that covers it and why. Numbers match the topic bank.
| Brief example | Covered by | When | Why this way |
|---|---|---|---|
| Create → Send | |||
| How to use Canva designs in email marketing | #03 Email Marketing with Canva guide, refreshed | November | The page already exists and targets this. It does not appear in the Moz export, so a refresh is the fastest gain, and a new post would compete with it. |
| How to send a Canva newsletter | #08 April template post, refreshed | December | The only Constant Contact page ranking for Canva terms. Adding the send keeps newsletter intent on one URL. |
| How to turn a Canva design into an email campaign | #02 Can Canva send email campaigns?, then #11 Send a Canva design as an email | November, then bank | The question form is what assistants are asked, so it goes first. The task form follows only if the refreshed guide does not already answer it. Mailchimp ranks for about 1,900 a month on images and graphics in email. |
| Canva email templates: how to design and send them | #08 April template post, refreshed | December | The April post ranks 7 for "canva email template". A separate template post would split that ranking. |
| Create → Publish | |||
| How to use Canva for social media marketing | #04 Schedule Canva posts to four channels, then a Canva + Social section page | November | Social scheduling is the largest gap in the data: Mailchimp ranks 4 to 6 on about 3,400 searches a month. Constant Contact's closest page is a 2015 post at 13. |
| Creating and scheduling social content with Canva | #04 | November | Same piece. One page per question keeps the cluster from competing with itself. |
| How small businesses can repurpose Canva content across channels | #07 One Canva design across email and social | December | Mailchimp ranks for cross-posting and omnichannel, about 2,900 a month. Constant Contact holds about 100. |
| Create → Grow | |||
| Why Canva content should lead somewhere you own | #06 | December | No Constant Contact page on owned audience. Low search volume, high AI-answer value, and it sets up every Grow piece. |
| How to turn social followers into email subscribers | #05 | December | Mailchimp holds "build an email list" at 1 to 6, about 525 a month. Constant Contact's list-growth posts do not start from a Canva asset. |
| How small businesses can move from creating content to building an audience | #05 and #06 together | December | The two pieces answer this as a pair and link to each other. A third page would repeat them. |
| Canva marketing workflows for small businesses | #15 Design to campaign workflow | Bank | Mailchimp ranks for about 640 a month on campaign examples and ideas. Pulled once two Grow pieces are live so it can link to them. |
| Product and integration | |||
| How the Canva + Constant Contact integration works | #01 Integration explainer | November | Mailchimp ranks 1 and 2 on its branded pair. Constant Contact's pair does not appear in the export. |
| How to connect Canva and Constant Contact | #01 and the integration guide | November, guide in Q1 | Connection steps belong in the explainer and the reference guide, not a third page. |
| What you can publish from Canva to Constant Contact | #01 capability table | November | Kept in the explainer so the branded pair has one strong page instead of two thin ones. |
| New Canva + Constant Contact features and use cases | #09 What's new log, #10 AI subject lines and captions | Release triggered | Written only once each capability is live and approved. Dated entries are what assistants cite for "new" questions. |
5 · Existing content: update versus net-new
Refresh what already exists before publishing anything that could compete with it.
A new page that targets the same question as an existing page splits the signal between them. Where Constant Contact already has the right page, the recommendation is to update it.
| Existing page | Status | Recommendation | When |
|---|---|---|---|
| Canva integration page/features/integrations/canva | Product page. Not in the 20 October Moz export for any Canva term | Update Expand into the hub: the create, connect, send, publish, measure sequence, a capability table and an FAQ matching the questions people ask. NativeCode writes the copy; the web team owns the page. | Brief in January, live when the web team can ship it |
| How to Create a Canva Email Template and Send It in Minutes/blog/canva-newsletter-template/ · April 2026, updated June | The only Constant Contact page ranking for Canva terms: about 356 a month, best position 7 | Update Add the newsletter send questions and a Canva template set here instead of in two new posts, so one page owns newsletter and template intent. | December |
| Email Marketing with Canva: A Step-by-Step Guide/blog/email-marketing-with-canva/ · July 2026 | Full workflow, written before the latest enhancements. Not in the 20 October Moz export | Update Make it the Create → Send anchor: current capabilities, a 40 to 60 word opening answer, a full FAQ and HowTo markup. | November |
| 5 Simple Tips for Mobile-Friendly Emails/blog/mobile-friendly-emails/ · September 2017 | No Canva, no image-only layouts | Update Add the Canva section (image-only designs, live text, alt text) here instead of a separate Canva mobile post. | Topic bank |
| Holiday Email Design Tips: How to Decorate an Email/blog/how-to-decorate-an-email-template-for-the-holidays/ · November 2022 | Ranks around 7 to 8 for "holiday email template"; no Canva | Update Replaces the planned Canva holiday templates post. Adds Canva holiday designs for email and social. | Live by late October 2027 |
| Email Marketing for Restaurants/blog/email-marketing-restaurants/ | Ranks weakly; Mailchimp holds "restaurant email marketing" at 1 | Update Replaces the planned Canva restaurants post. Adds the weekly specials workflow across email and social. | Topic bank |
| Launch release16 April 2026 | Primary source for capabilities | Keep Cited as the source in every piece that describes the integration. | No change |
| Community postsInserting Canva images · Coach Insights on Canva · Productivity Superpower · From Likes to List | Helpful, conversational, not built for search | Keep Linked from pieces where they help. Any steps that have changed are flagged to the community team. | As pieces publish |
| Canva Apps Marketplace listingcanva.com | The only Constant Contact presence on Canva's domain | Partner request Align the listing language with the hub, and request the help center inclusion described in item 7. | November |
What the check changed. All 25 original topics were checked on 20 October against the blog sitemap, the ranking URLs in the Moz export, the knowledge base and the community. Three planned posts became updates to existing pages (mobile-friendly emails, holiday email design, restaurants). Two were merged so they do not compete: the Canva newsletter templates roundup goes into the April post, and "Do you need email software if you use Canva?" goes into "Can Canva send email campaigns?". The topic bank is now 23 topics: 5 updates and 18 net-new. Each one lists the existing Constant Contact pages it links to in the topic bank.

Source: Moz keywords-by-site exports for constantcontact.com and mailchimp.com, 20 October 2026, US. Each export holds up to 30,000 keywords, so a term missing from an export may still rank lower down. Customer email archive pages are excluded from the Constant Contact side. All volumes are approximate monthly figures.
6 · Internal linking and destination strategy
Every piece links up to the hub. The call to action matches what the reader came to do.
Linking rules
- Every piece links up to the integration hub and to its cluster anchor.
- No piece links sideways to another that targets a neighboring question, so no two pages compete.
- Existing high-traffic Constant Contact pages on email templates, social media marketing and sign-up forms each get one contextual link to the hub. Internal links come before any outside link work.
- The Real Estate and Agency Partner tracks link into the matching Canva pieces as they publish, and the reverse.
- Anchor text describes the destination in plain words, never "click here".
Destination by intent
| Reader intent | Destination |
|---|---|
| Learning how it works | Integration hub |
| Choosing a tool | Free trial, tagged as Canva |
| Already a customer | Connect Canva, import a design |
| Building an audience | Sign-up forms and list growth |
Each call to action carries the piece, theme and intent in its tracking parameters, so trials and connections can be traced to the content that produced them.
7 · Capturing Canva + Constant Contact searches
Own every search and every prompt that names both brands.
These are the people closest to connecting an account. The goal is that a search or an assistant question naming Canva and Constant Contact together returns a Constant Contact page with a complete, current answer.
The explainer and the hub FAQ
The November explainer targets the branded pair. The hub FAQ answers the exact questions people ask: does it work, is it free, how do I connect, which channels, what can I publish. Both carry FAQ markup.
A dated "what's new" log
A single page, updated with each approved release, gives answer engines a fresh, dated source for questions about new capabilities, and keeps the explainer from going stale.
A request for Canva's own pages
NativeCode drafts the request: inclusion in Canva's help article on sending designs by email, and listing copy aligned with the hub. Marketing takes it to the Canva partner team.
How it is tracked. Rankings on the branded pair, and whether Constant Contact is named or cited on a fixed set of Canva prompts across Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot, sampled on the same day each month.
How each month runs
The brief's five steps, on a fixed monthly rhythm, with releases as triggers.
The topic bank holds the candidates. Each month's memo picks from it based on what the data shows and what has shipped. Nothing becomes a static calendar.
